Stupid Airlines

Well, I was just going through my luggage when I realized that my PS2, 3 sony controllers, and about 6 or 7 games were missing. I called the airlines and they told me that I have to file a report at the airport and such. It'll probably be months before anything happens. Never fly with ATA or United...first flight and they lost my bag and when I got it stuff was missing.

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!

A poem

To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To hope is to risk pain.
To try is to risk failure,
but risk must be taken,
because the greatest risk in life is to risk nothing at all.

Christmas

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Mine was pretty good. I'm really happy with how things went. Everyone liked their gifts as I did I. I seemed to get a pretty good score with gifts...even though I wasn't expecting much. I'm getting a 17" flat panel monitor when I get back to school. Here I got a set of bose headphones, farcry, halo, and some armani cologne. When I get back to school I'll actually get to try out farcry...my laptop could never handle it. I was really glad that the gifts I gave were well recieved. I bought my mom a canon photo printer to go along with her camera. For my aunt's husband I got a coloman propane camping stove and for my dad I'm getting him some parts through polaris. They all seemed pretty happy about it. I hope everyone has a safe and fun new years!

Home for Christmas

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days like I said I would. Since I've been home I've been hanging out with family and friends. I've had to do some shopping and such. I was kinda bummed when I got here because all the snow was melted off down in town. I did get to go up on the mesa (big mountain at the edge of my town) where there's a ton of snow. Haven't really done anything super special or anything since I've been here, but it is one hell of a lot better than Iowa. Well, I'm getting ready to head out with my parents. Hit me up on aim or something sometime.

Drive to Flint

Well, I just got into flint about 2 hours ago. That is such a boring drive...I don't recommend it. I was going to leave at 4:30 this morning, but for some reason I woke up around 3:30 and was wide awake. I decided to get up, take a shower, finish hauling my crap to my car and pick up my appartment. After dropping a bunch of stuff in the hallway of my apartment in front of the "building managers" door a couple times, I finally got out on the road at about 4 A.M. Suprisingly I didn't have any problems finding where I was supposed to be going...I think the 400 miles of one road helped with that. Somehow I managed to go about 80 mph the whole way without even getting pulled over. At one point there was a michigan state patrol right behind me when i was going 80 in a 65...i just switched lanes and he went right on past me...close call there. I think the highlight of the trip was the kick ass Bentley that was cruising along next to me.

A tip for those of you traveling on I-80 to michigan...don't go by Chicago from noon to 7....I hit it at about 1 or 2 today and the trafic was moving at about 10 mph for what seemed like forever.

That's really all that went down today for me...i'm sure something somewhat exciting will happen by the time I make it home to Colorado.

Finally leaving Iowa

Well, today is officially my last day at work. I'm getting up at 4:30 tomorrow morning throwing the rest of my crap that I haven't finished packing yet in the car and getting out of Iowa as quickly as I can. I should get into Flint around 6 or 7 pm. I'll have that night and the next day to screw around with some friends then early Sunday morning I'm flying out of flint to Grand Junction where I'll be for about 2 and a half weeks. My parents said they have some type of suprise for me, but I have no idea what it is so I'm just going to have to see.

One thing I know for sure that I'm going to have to do while I'm home is buy some more clothes for winter and probably some type of travel bag to hold it all on the way back to flint. Too bad the mall in my city doesn't have an Express Men...they have some pretty cool stuff.

Outside of all that, I've got a big ass presentation to all the managers from my plant and a few from a plant in minnisota over this work term. I have to talk about the projects I've worked on and what I'd like to do next term...stuff like that. It shouldn't be too bad...after all, I was in speech and debate for four years. After that I have to model some other company's building in autoCAD so that the other CO-OP can design a layout for the flow of materials and such within their plant. It shouldn't be too difficult.

I'm looking forward to Sunday though...I love to fly. The whole airport and plane thing is pretty cool...It's interesting to see and meet other people from all over the country and world.

Well, I've gotta get to going over my presentation so that I don't look like a dumbass. I probably won't be able to update till at least Sunday when I get home. I might post while I'm at the airport if I have a longer layover.

Almost outta here

A little over one week is all that's left before I'm outta Iowa. I'm gonna try to make a somewhat scenic but quick drive back to Flint on the 18th then hopefully do something fun that evening with some FIJI guys. On the 19th I'm flying home to Colorado for Christmas and New Years.

It should be pretty fun. I'm going to get to see and hang out with my family and my friends. Actually, the day after I get back home my debate team is throwing a Christmas party...I'll be there for sure.

I have no idea what to get my parents and grandma for Christmas, but I'll have to figure something out once I'm home. I have to get my friends something too.

As for New Years, I don't know what I'm doing yet. Tamara might come over to hang out and such, but it's not for sure or anything yet.

Before I can get going I've gotta get all packed up first...haven't done a thing yet. Hopefully I can get most of my stuff packed up this weekend so I can be ready to go next Saturday at like 5 in the morning. I'd have to say the thing I hate about this whole coop thing is having to deal with all the moving and switching things in and out of your name every 11 weeks. I guess I'll be pretty used to it by the time I graduate.

Along with packing this weekend, I think I'm going to go see Ocean's 12...I really liked the first one, so I'm expecting a lot of this one.

For those of the in FIJI that haven't signed up yet, get on the boards. If you're a friend of FIJI or a sweetheart, hit me up and I'll give you the link if you want on the boards.

Christmas parties rock

Before I get on to the crazy ass Polaris Christmas party, I've got to talk about the Iowa debate tournament I judged yesterday. I thought I'd walk in to a tournament where the kids would be dressed up and know what they're doing, but what I saw was a bunch of kids that don't even know what a pair of slacks are. The coaches didn't say anything and they hardly even knew what they were talking about when it comes to the events. It pissed me off when I found out that the coaches cut the pieces for the kids in individual events...That's like the coach writing the case for the debaters. Once I figured out the worst judging system possible I got to my rounds only to watch dumb ass kids argue shit they didn't even understand themselves. Out of the eight debates that I watched in rooms that were like 6'x6', I saw one good debate...And they wouldn't come close to what Colorado has to offer. It was a sad sight.

After the depressing debate tournament I drove over to the expo center for my company's Christmas party. At first it just seemed like any nice Christmas party, but after dinner ended it started to get crazy. The alcohol was starting to take effect on the managers and supervisors. Lets just put it this way...I'll never be able to look at them the same again. It is pretty fun to watch my drunken supervisors try karaoke. At the end of the night there was still about three pans of chicken so I took one...it'd give me a break from my microwave burritos.

Less that 2 weeks to go till I get to head home for Christmas!!! Then on the sixth I'm heading back to Flint for school. The school term is going to be bad ass. I can't wait. I miss all of you from school and home! See y'all soon.

Adam and I at Niagra Falls over Thanksgiving 2004 Posted by Hello

Bored at work

I'm sure I'm not the only one here that gets bored at work. It's sad that it happens this often. I have found that screwing around on the blogs is increasing my amount of procrastination.

Hey, for those of you that have read my profile on AIM: hit me up with some ideas of what to do because I'm stuck.

I'm gonna post some pictures from Buffalo, NY later on when i get home so y'all can see how much fun I had...
