I Feel a Bit Sheltered

Of all the flying and traveling I've done I've only covered 29% of the U.S....How said is that? Check it out...

Thanksgiving in New York

Well, I just recently got back from Buffalo, New York where I hung out with Adam. I would have to say that it was the most fun I've had since I've been on work term.

The flight out was pretty good...I'd say that the most interesting part of that was this crazy ass guy that kept giving the flight lady at the gate a bunch of crap. The coolest part though was when I got seated by two really good looking girls. We talked for a while...it was pretty sweet.

When I finally got into New York I called Adam and had to wait 20 minutes for him to get his ass out of his garage to come pick me up. Once he got there we started to leave the airport and he didn't even know where to go....that kid has got to be the worst ever with directions. After he almost kills me we find ourselves at a big ass mall filled with a ton of hot chicks. We ate dinner there then headed to John's house. It was pretty fun over there. I got to meet him and a few hot chicks there. We finally headed to his house at 2:30 in the morning.

The next day we got up, had some awesome pancakes that his mom made then headed out to the garage to work on the bimmer. Oh yeah...I got to meet his sisters in there somewhere too...they're pretty hot. LOL So after we got some stuff done on the bimmer we headed over to Kelly's house. We talked to her for a little while then headed to Adam's grandma's house for the feast. Nothing incredibly exciting happened there, but I did get to meet Adam's family...They're all pretty cool. Later on we ended up back at Kelly's house to watch a movie.

On Friday we got up pretty early and decided to go to BestBuy and the mall to go shopping. The mall wasn't too bad people wise, but BestBuy was brutal. There was a line all the way around the store to get up to the checkout places. So we got out of there and went to a different mall to do some shopping. I ended up buying
$250 worth of new clothes...which was desperately needed. Adam bought a kick ass casmir wool jacket. After we got all that I changed and we headed out back to the town later that night. We ended up heading to Canada to see Niagara Falls. It was cold as hell, but pretty fun. I got some pictures for my mom. Later that night we ended up back at John's house where I couldn't even keep my eyes open. Adam woke me up at about 2:30 in the morning so we could head home.

On saturday nothing really big happened. We went out for breakfast then I got dropped off at the airport. The three flights I had to get back to Sioux Falls were alright...nothing exciting though. I ended up getting back pretty late saturday night.

Overall, the trip was awesome. It's a lot of fun to hang out with Adam and john in a place where there's stuff to do. But now i'm back in bum fuck Iowa where there is nothing to do. Thankfully I'm only here for a couple more weeks then I'm heading home for Christmas.

I was thinking...

Before I really get down to what I was really thinking about, I just want to let anyone reading know that Opera is a great web browser. It's got all kinds of stuff in it and it is pretty compatible. Give it a try...along with it's built in IRC chat...there's all kinds of different people on there.

AS for what I was thinking...I'm helping out my debate friends in high school on their current topic. It's resolved: The United States has a moral obligation to promote democratic ideals in other nations. I think it is a great topic and should allow for a lot of good debate. If you have any good ideas, leave a comment or hit me up on AIM.

Ok, so i didn't really say as much as i thought...kids from other schools can see this, so don't want to give them ideas :).

I finally got enough money to order myself a Canon 5 megapixel digital camera. It's pretty nice, now i just have to wait for it to get here.

Interestingness

Well, since my last post nothing much has changed. Work is pretty much still the same. I have to give a big presentation to the managers and such on all my projects and things I've done since I've been working there. It should go pretty well. If you were to add up how much I've saved the company, I could pay my wages for a while.

As for other things, I was bored last weekend, so I downloaded a web browser called Opera. I'd heard about it, but I never really tried it. After screwing around in it for a while I decided I liked it better than internet explorer. I'd have to say one of the coolest things about it is the built in chat client. I was never really into chat rooms and such until I tried out Opera's client. It's an international client, where, suprisingly, most of the people are from other countries. It's really interesting to talk to people from all around the world and hear what they hvae to say about a huge variety of subjects. It's pretty fun and something to do after work and on weekends when I'm bored.

Here in a couple weeks I'm going to be going to New York to hang out with Adam for Thanksgiving. It should be pretty fun. I also recently found something to do on my weekends: judge debate. Those of you that know me, would know that I was really into speech and debate in high school. It was awesome, so I found a way to keep a part of it. The coaches from the local high schools want me to come judge for them, so I'm gonna check it out and see how debate is in Iowa.

Well, that's about all I have to say for now...not a whole lot new happens around here. Drop me a line sometime...either phone or AIM.
